THE LONDON
RUGBY LEAGUE
FOUNDATION:
PROMOTIONAL CONTENT
The London Rugby League Foundation is a charitable trust established to increase participation and engagement in rugby league in London and the surrounding counties.
The Foundation works with community clubs to deliver high quality coaching to over 5000 children in over 100 primary and secondary schools in and around Greater London.
We were commissioned to create promotional video content package in order to raise the profile of the Trust. We filmed a number of events and then furthered our project by working with a young London player Aaron Sinclair. After an informal interview we developed a creative script which focussed on Aaron’s personal ambitions, and hopes for the sport of Rugby League in London.
Our first film was positioned at a charity dinner gala for the Rugby League legend Martin Offiah. The film was around 3 minutes and also included interviews with the chairman of the Foundation, community coaches and Martin Offiah.
Following this we cut the film down and produced a shorter more emotionally engaging edit which was centred solely on Aaron. This film was positioned on Facebook and released 3-4 months later to coincide with the new season.
When ‘likes’ and ‘social’ engagement stared to drop off we released a 30 second edit to boost the awareness of our main film.
‘BigPlus developed an original and creative promotional concept for the London Rugby League Foundation which they produced stylistically from script to screen.
The video content was initially premiered at a live event before being re-appropriated and re-positioned to engage the highest demographic for Social Media. They went a step further by producing a detailed social media strategy. Their efforts assisted in the promotional film being shared by Super League clubs, star Rugby League players, industry insiders as well as an exclusive feature within the official RFL monthly newsletter.
We were fortunate to find an agency who have a genuine passion for the development of Rugby League in the South of England! The films received over 15,000 in the first month, and have helped raise the profile of Rugby League in London as well as the youth and community work we do!’
